Double bracelet delicately assembled by hand with fine organic cotton threads and Jubilee medal Saint Benedict in Bronze with 24k yellow gold plating. 18k yellow gold plated bronze button clasp. Bronze terminals with 18k yellow gold plating at both ends of the piece.
Pieces of worthy and notorious merit, never forgetting the beauty. For those who do not know this emblematic medal, Saint Benedict is a sacred sign widely spread among the Catholic faithful. It presents on one side the image of Saint Benedict, and on the other the Cross of Christ. On the Cross and around it the initials of a prayer or exorcism are read. The Saint Benedict Medal reminds the faithful that they carry with them the constant presence of God and his protection. In the nineteenth century there was a renewed fervor for the Saint Benedict Medal. In the written works of Dom Prosper Guéranger, abbot of Solesmes, and Dom Zelli Iacobuzzi, monk of St. Paul Outside the Walls, the origin and history of the medal is carefully studied. From this last monastery, located in Rome, the center of Benedictine irradiation, the devotion to the Medal was also spread. The most popular representation of it is the so-called “Jubilee Medal”, designed in the Beuron Abbey, and coined especially for the Benedictine Jubilee of 1880, commemorating the 1400 years of the birth of St. Benedict Abad. Benedictine abbots from all over the world gathered for that occasion at the Abbey of Montecassino, and from there the Medal of St. Benedict spread throughout the world. ERIKA·YELO recalls the San Benito Jubilee Medal designed by the monk Desiderio Lenz of the Beuron School of Art.
